Hope floats.

I find hope in peculiar places.

Like this clip that I found, from Britain's got talent.  This frump older woman who has never been kissed gets on stage to sing and pursue her dream.  Everyone was rolling their eyes until she opened her mouth.  It was so beautiful.  and it gave me hope.

and when people flash their headlights at you, to warn you that there is a police officer right ahead.  ok so maybe you shouldn't be speeding in the first place, but just the idea that a random person is looking out for a random stranger... gives me hope.

and when everyone pulls over for an ambulance that is screaming by... maybe it's the law to do it... but still, just seeing everyone collectively doing something to help someone in need... it gives me hope.

and when you see a little tuft of grass, or a dandelion, or a weed, push through cracks in pavement.... imagine the resilience involved in that kind of feat of nature.

and it gives me hope.

  1. I like this.
And the interesting thing is that I had a conversation with Braden not too long ago about the ambulance thing. I was driving home and pulled over for an ambulance and felt a feeling like, "Wow, this is a unique time in life because it seems that everyone is on the same page. No matter where people are going, they all get on the same page of doing right at a time like this."
It was also interesting because there was a truck that didn't pull over and it seemed that you could feel how people felt towards him, like, "Why isn't he doing what we are all doing right now?"

    Good thoughts...
