Well friends, it's Christmas time! Despite the fact that this is our third Christmas married, it kind of feels like it's our very first. For some reason, the past couple of years we just haven't gotten into the "Christmas spirit". Even our trees were hand-me-down trees; left over from church fundraisers and sparsely decorated. It's been disappointing to miss out on the nostalgia that goes into the holiday season (at our own fault) and I just couldn't figure out why it wasn't feeling like Christmas as I always remembered it.
Ok well maybe there have been a couple of clues... like sleeping in until 11:30am and not really getting each other any gifts that first Christmas. That might have had a little something to do with it...
The point is, this year feels like, looks like, and smells like Christmas! Last week, we even went out and bought our own, beautiful, Christmas tree. That same night, we bought all sorts of Christmas decorations, decked the house with goodies, and made cookies while listening to Christmas carols. We've also ordered Christmas cards to send, bought lots of little presents for each other (we've both got packages coming in the mail so it leads to very careful mail pick up haha), got Buddy an elf costume, and went to the Christmas parade in town.
It's been so much fun! and it's just the beginning!
i like the random horn hanging at the bottom of the tree. lol
ReplyDelete...and the cute little stocking for Buddy.
It's so pretty! Our tree here in Clamart is not at all. I mean, it's prettier than last years atrocity but it's still lacking from what I would call a "real" Christmas tree. Can't wait to be home in TEN dayS!
ReplyDeleteI miss those days when we would sit and lounge in coffee shops and encourage each other and devise good deeds. I always loved you.
ReplyDeleteI still do.
and your lil message meant the world to me.
I miss you.
Third Christmas!!!! Wow time flys! I love the random horn too and of course it has pink bulbs on it!
